i dont have the always on standby like rose has but am prepared i think for the weather. i justdont have the freezer full of groceries my grandma and mom always had.

oh i would love it, most have fireplaces. you can always put on more clothes to warm up, but the humidity that comes with a hurricane after the storm and heat from a house with no air is just to much. those beautiful trees can be to much with one in the living room. during katrina at my house it was about a week before lights came back on. i followed a gas truck to try and find gas for generator because lights were off at store also, guess where the truck went. alabama power. bath maine has already gotten 3 feet of snow. heat breeds bacteria. no i will take my chances with a blizzard as opposed to a hurricane anyday. it was almost 3 weeks for lights to come back on during frederick at the loop area. no way. un ah give me the blizzard. with energy cost going up so much i just worry about the elderly who are on such a fixed income with no family to check. that is my only concern.

now carl, i would have paid good money to see you eating that corn. i will be laughing about that all day. i have a friend who lives in chicago what amazes me is they say their pipes never freeze.
